Do not use chemical solvents either. To reduce static on faux wood blinds use a fabric dryer sheet on them by gently wiping them with it. You can also clean them in between with a dry cloth. Remember don’t use hot water or clean them every week to retain the wood look. So in conclusion when you are thinking of buying wood blinds vs. faux wood blinds here is what you need to consider. Number 1, Faux Wood Blinds cost much less even the custom made ones are relatively cheaper than other custom blinds. Real wood blinds are on the more expensive end of window treatments let alone custom made wooden blinds. Faux Wood Blinds are good for areas of high humidity and moisture because they don’t warp where wooden blinds are not in humidity and moisture because of the warping factor. Faux Wood Blind are not as rigid as real wood and need more ladders to keep them sturdy. Cheaper faux wood blinds have a tendency to yellow over time. With Faux Wood Blinds don’t have quite as many colors and style choices as with real wood blinds. I guess it comes down to economics and how much one wants to spend when considering faux wood blinds versus wood blinds. I would take into consideration the environmental factors as well.
